Minis are just right for you if you have a short wish list and want a few new pictures to add to your timeless collection of treasures
Mins are perfect for you if you like capturing your littles “just as they are!” You know, sometimes they smile (or not), jumping, rolling, giggling…
Minis are right up your alley if you are “Johnny on the Spot”. Minis are typically scheduled back-to-back, which means that punctuality is SO, SO important. If you’re always the person running late to things, (be honest with yourself), a mini session might be a big source of stress for you and your littles. Typically, we are unable to honor any lost time because there is someone else whose spot is directly after yours. Therefore, you would forfeit your spot altogether if you’re late or have less shoot time than the typical 15-20 minute mini slot. (Ooops, no refunds.)
A few things to keep in mind:
A mini session might NOT be right for you if you have a longer, more specific set of shots in mind and you don’t feel comfortable with the unpredictability of a shorter spot to accomplish them in.
a mini session spot zoooooooms by. A mini is probably not the right fit for you if you have a list to check off a specific set of wants. We always try to make our photography experiences as personal as possible and ask our clients about their family, dynamics, and goals. Having a couple wants and goals is totally ok, but having a long list just means that a full session will be a better fit for you so we can accomplish everything on your list.
You might choose to book a petite session instead of a mini session if you want more time and opportunity to capture the exact kinds of photos you want. Sometimes, littles need some time to “warm up” to the photographer, or they get scared of a bumblebee. (Trust me, it has happened!) Minis are very fast-paced. While we would love to extend the length of your mini session if the little ones are having a rough patch, we won’t be able to. Please Keep in mind that this is one great advantage to booking a petite or full session! Kids have time to warm up, and we have time to burn off that energy and snag some amazing moments on your list!
FAQ:
Can I reschedule if I am late?
Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early, before your session time, ready to be photographed (meaning having your kids in their clothing, hair fixed, face wiped, etc) Sessions will be booked back to back so if you are late, you will only have the remaining time to complete your session which will result in even fewer images.) Your session time begins promptly at your scheduled time and will end 10 minutes later. Because sessions are scheduled back to back, I am not able to extend the length of your session in the event that you are not present or ready at your session start time.
Will I receive a refund if I am late for my session or my littles don’t cooperate?
While we will do everything we can to get your little ones excited, engaged, smiling, giggling, posing like a superm
odel for their time slot- let’s face it, somedays, it’s just not going to happen. The deposit that was paid to hold your spot is non-transferable, non-refundable, no cash back value is given, no exchanges for another photo session, and no credit given.
What do I do when I arrive at the location of the shoot?
I will contact you in an email prior to our scheduled time. I also will send you a text message to let you know if there is a specific location to meet up upon arrival. When you arrive, I will likely be working with the client booked before you. Please wait patiently until I am done at the meeting spot and I will come and get you! Thanks!
Can I bring extra outfits?
I always try to give a little bit of helpful advice to the grown-ups about what might look best for a specific set or theme. But, only one outfit is allowed per mini session. That being said, I also recommend bringing an extra change of clothes in the car for back-up in case of a chicken nuggie bbQ accident! Need more time for outfits? Check out our full packages, which are 100% customized for you (and your family’s) style!
Can I purchase a mini session to give as a gift to someone else?
Um, sure! Who wouldn’t want the gift of photography? You can send us an email through our contact page and we can set up a gift-certificate for you! [great idea!] Mini sessions make wonderful gifts for families and couples! Note that gift certificates are non-refundable upon purchase.
TIPS:
Make sure your littles are well fed. Nothing spells cranky like a little who needs a snack and a juice box.
Naps..take them before you get here. Both of you! Everyone can benefit from a nap. But honestly, tired littles do not equal great photos.
Quietly watch the shoot. In other words, don’t worry…I’ve got this. Your little might get nervous or stressed, look the wrong way, get upset. I know, it’s hard…it’s tempting. You really want (no, you really neeeeeeeeeeed) to tell Johnny to stop giving Sally bunny ears, or Sissy to stop sticking her tongue out for crying out loud! It’s okay. I’ll take the shot. Then, I’ll take another one & another one. I always end up with more shots than I will ever need or you will ever want. It is the wonderful world of digital photography!
